Mural painting is among the oldest human art forms and is a popular choice for places of worship because it is a form ideally suited to creating compelling works of art intended to be viewed by large audiences. The earliest murals were probably frescoes, examples of which include the first-century Roman murals in Pompeii, Italy.
Trompe l’oeil painting (from the French “to trick the eye”) can create the perception of depth, suggesting that the object or scene depicted in the mural actually exists in the space.
Sacred Spaces is proud to continue the tradition of mural painting, and we are also well-versed in newer media – such as oil and acrylic paints – that can create large-scale vibrant works of art, dramatically rendering scenes that add both beauty and visual meaning to your place of worship.
